“A journey of 1000 miles begins with a single step” which is the profound yet simple wisdom expressed in the Tao-Te Ching, written 2500 years ago by Chinese philosopher Lao-Tzu.
“What else are friends for but to save each other?” – equally profound wisdom expressed by Winnie the Pooh, the charming Bear of Little Brain and hero of the Winnie the Pooh books. We’ve chosen five of your favorite Pooh stories and mingled them with five Chinese Taoist Folktales, performed with our typical commedia dell’arte flair, plus original music (Pooh-Bear is after all, a prolific song writer).
Under the direction of Artistic Director Fayra Teeters, Masque Alfresco’s well-established company of six actors will portray 30 different characters. They bring the usual commedia dell’arte bravado: colorful fantasy costumes, slapstick schtick, celebrity slams, political/social jokes, plus eight songs under the musical direction of pianist/composer Albert Palmeter. This family-friendly production lasts 70 minutes so bring your picnic dinners, lawn chairs, blankets, leashed family pets, and your funny bones!
